The ongoing international controversy over construction and development that is leading to desecration of the old Jewish cemetery in Vilna may eventually be resolved by utilizing a modern technology which has the ability to "see" underground, although some experts contend such a resolution could end up backfiring.

In September 2003 Arieh Klein was asked to develop a solution for covering the mass graves at the Belzec Death Camp in south-eastern Poland. Approx. 500,000 - 600,000 people were murdered in this camp between February - November, 1942; almost all Jews, together with some ten to twenty thousand Gypsies and a few Polish non-Jews who had helped to hide Jews from the Nazis. The victims were buried in mass graves on the site of the camp. 

Statoil, the Norwegian National Oil Company, own a petrol station in Lebork in Northern Poland, as part of a chain of 160 petrol stations in Poland. The access road to this petrol station crosses a Jewish cemetery, where all the gravestones have been removed, some in the Nazi era, and the rest in the 1970's. Arieh Klein developed a solution to rebuild the access road, with a steel structure providing an 'air-gap', so that it will satisfy the demands of Jewish Halachic law.
